An evening at Taj

November 14th, 2008

Last Wednesday Jane and I had been to Taj Hotel in Churchgate for a seminar arranged by Alpha India on the recent Credit Crunch, through an invitation given by our pastor Nigel.

The speaker for the evening was Ken Costa, a leading businessman and a well known Banker, author of the book “God at work“. We had a wonderful time amongst the small group of 150 vip’s who were present there. I thought Ken would speak about the reasons for the recent financial crisis, how it will affect India and what should be done in this situation, but interestingly he didn’t place much emphasis on any of the above points. Infact, he stressed more on how our individual behavior at our work place, our values can bring a difference in the global economy. I was extremely motivated by his speech and am now keen on developing more of God driven values in my life and look at the greater picture on how I can make a difference in the lives of others and the society at large.

We also got the privilege to meet Nick Vujicic (click here to visit his site), a young businessman, banker, investor and a motivational speaker from Australia. Nick was born without arms and legs. He shared with us about how he always felt incomplete as a person during his childhood and was driven to commit suicide but he met with Jesus, who restored him back, gave him a new hope and turned his life around. We were spellbound by his passionate love for God and his positive attitude. It was very touching and inspirational.

We also got an opportunity to personally meet Dr. H.T. Sangliana, retired IPS officer and former Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, the cop who arrested Telgi. We had the privilege to hear few words of wisdom from him. What amazed me was his humbleness and warmth nature.

All in all the evening was absolutely fantastic and an unforgettable experience.
